Feeling Nostalgic? The "Big Band" sound is alive and well...and enjoyed several times a year at the historic Portage Point Inn - taking our guests back to another era, in more ways than one! Dust off you dancin' shoes and join the many who enjoy dancing the way it used to be.

This is one dynamic event with a delicious prime rib buffet dinner, followed by dancing to the sounds of Dorsy, Count Bassie, Woody Herman, Glenn Miller and more.

"General Assembly" is the band of choice. Not just a combo playing old songs - but a full 17 piece orchestra, made up of doctors, dairy farmers, teachers, lawyers, consumer services and a college president, to name most - who want the opportunity to play music they love on a regular basis. While most of these performers are not full time musicians, they all have extensive training and experience. Some are professionals who have settled down to a steadier life...but continue to play for their love of music. Audience members have responded with overwhelming appreciation. They are sought for appearances from San Francisco to Portage Point Inn, in Onekama, Michigan.

The popular Big Band events have been enjoyed for several years at Portage Point Inn...and are held at least twice a year...Spring & Fall.
